This is a multi-step project that took a lot of time to get done (22 hours approx). I started out finding a picture that I was inspired to work from. I chose a picture of a peacock looking right at the camera. I then pulled a non-realistic geometric design from that original picture. This took several attempts to find one I really liked (I did four). I used the diamond transfer method to move the 8″ x 10″ to a Bristol paper that was 14″ x 17″. Then using different typed of sharpies I put in all of the black (this took the full capacity of several sharpie markers). Then proceeded to use a defined color pallette of purples, blues and green-blues of the medium colored pencil. I used Prismacolor blending pencils to make the overall piece look very very blended. At the very end I used a Prismacolor silver colored pencil to define the various sections of the peacock. Done under the direction of Lea Anderson at Central New Mexico Community College in Fall 2011.
